Nursery
At Beck we admit children on a part time basis into the nursery each year which is split into two provisions, Little Beck for 2 year FEL provision with 40 places and Nursery (F1) for 3 year olds which is a 104 place provision.
Little Beck (nursery 2 year provision)
Children eligible for 2 year FEL provision need to provide an eligibility code number and have reached their 2nd birthday prior to admission.

Foundation Stage 1 (Nursery 3 year old provision)
For a September start date places are offered to children who have turned 3 before the 31st August with 15 hour or 30 hour places available.
School Admissions
We operate an “open door” policy and prospective parents are welcome to visit the school. Please contact the school office to make an appointment prior to your visit.
School follows the Local Authority (LA) Admissions Policy for all pupils.
School has a standard number of 90 pupils per year. If the school is oversubscribed then the Local Authority’s over-subscription criteria, found in the Primary School Admission Guide for Parents (link below) outlines, the priorities for admissions. Please note that we cannot guarantee a place in main school if your child attends Beck Nursery.

The LA is the admissions authority. All admissions to school are administered by the Pupil Admissions team. Click here for their contact details.
If your application for a place at Beck Primary School is unsuccessful, parents have a right of appeal and should contact the Pupil Admissions Team. The Admissions Working Party, an impartial tribunal, hears appeals; their decision is final.

Reception class/Foundation Stage 2
For children aged 4 years at 1st September places are allocated to children by the Local Authority. Applications are made directly by parents to the Primary Admissions team in the autumn term prior to their child’s 4th birthday.
Prospective parents are always welcome to contact the school to arrange a visit to our reception class.
Admission arrangements for children with Special Education Needs
Most children with special educational needs are educated in mainstream schools. A small minority of children havemore complex needs. The SEN Section works with schools and families to ensure that all children with SEN are identifed and supported appropriately.
The SEN Section allocates Special School and Integrated Resource Unit placements. For further information contact 0114 273 6394
Children with an EHCP are given a place in a primary school through a consultation process, led by the Local Authority.

In Year School Admissions
If you would like your child to transfer to Beck Primary from their current allocated school you will need to complete a Common Transfer Form, these are available from their current school and submit it to the Local Authority Primary Admissions Teams based at Floor 5, North Wing, Moorfoot Building, Sheffield.
Please be aware, your child may not gain automatic entry into school at this point but will be placed on a waiting list held by the Local Authority.

IR admissions
Children are allocated places in our Integrated Resource by the Local Authority. All children within the IR have an EHCP and are placed via the SENDSARS team.
