Headteacher Welcome

It is my absolute privilege as the Headteacher of Beck Primary School to introduce you to our amazing school.

Beck Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive school and most importantly is a happy and safe place for your children. We care about our families and our children and strive every day to provide the very best for them. We have fantastic children, dedicated hard-working staff and very supportive parents and governors who come together to form our special community. We are a big school with a very big heart!

Everyone linked to Beck describes our school as one big family. We take very seriously the trust our families have placed in us, by choosing Beck as their child’s primary school. We believe every child achieves more when we work in partnership with our parents and carers. I am personally committed to ensuring this is a true partnership: your views and opinions are important to me.

We strive for excellence in learning for every child who attends Beck and our curriculum supports children in developing a thirst for learning. We are driven to prepare our children for successful transition to secondary school as resilient, confident, curious and enthusiastic learners. We are passionate about recognising the individual talents of all of the children in our care, to ensure that opportunities are provided so that all can reach their full potential. This is particularly evident within our specialist music provision. Every child at Beck has the chance to learn to play a brass instrument and access a range of extra-curricular opportunities.

We are particularly proud of the support we provide for children with Special Education Needs. We have a high level of expertise in supporting additional needs within our mainstream classrooms and within more specialist provision. The diversity of our learners is what makes Beck unique and special.

We were inspected in June 2024 and judged to be GOOD in all areas. 

The report starts with the following: ‘Beck Primary is a special and welcoming school where pupils are happy. The school truly lies at the heart of its community. For example, it supports pupils and their families, including during school holidays, to overcome the challenges faced by the community. The school certainly is ‘a big school with a big heart’.’

My job, as Headteacher, is to ensure your child feels a strong sense of belonging here at Beck, to know they are a valued member of the school community, so that they feel safe to take risks in their learning and to be themselves. I believe in every child in our school and I want them to believe in themselves: that is when the magic happens!

In our school we have over seven hundred children with the potential to change the world. Our ethos is built around a core value of Aim High! I want doors to open to our children as they move on from Beck so they can achieve their dreams in the future.
