Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

An Inclusive Curriculum

At Beck, we firmly believe that all pupils should have equal access to a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum that will help to shape and prepare them for the next stage in their educational journey and beyond. We have high expectations and are aspirational for all of our learners, and believe that all children are entitled to an engaging, inspiring curriculum that enables them to make progress, fulfil their potential and become confident, independent individuals. Teachers, Year Group Leaders and Curriculum Leads strive to ensure that our curriculum meets the needs of individuals and is appropriately differentiated, whilst aiming high for all our learners.

Our whole school approach to Special Educational Needs provision is rooted in the belief that all pupils should receive high quality teaching, adapted and personalised to meet individual needs. Quality-First Teaching, alongside appropriate and targeted interventions and strategies, forms the basis of our SEND provision in school.

Information on how we support and make the curriculum accessible to pupils with special educational needs and disability can be found in our Special Educational Needs and Disability Policy and Information Report on our policies page.

Our SENCO in school is Miss S. Whittaker, who can be contacted by telephoning the main school office or alternatively emailing senco@beckprimary.co.uk
